Fast Nationwide Pickup! All motorcycles are usually picked up within one to two business days from the time the donation form is submitted.Donation Process - The Easy Motorcycle Donation Process
Acceptable VehiclesMost motorcycles are accepted whether or not they are on a trailer. We also accept all other types of vehicles including boats with and without trailers. In our experience we have found that Teddy Bear Cops motorcycle donation charity accepts more motorcycles than other charities. We suggest you fill out the online motorcycle donation form to start the process. We accept many RVs, motor homes, trucks, etc. To donate other vehicles CLICK HERE. Most motorcycles are accepted. If you are curious as to whether your old motorcycle will be accepted just fill out the form. We can usually let you know within minutes or a couple of hours if we can accept it or not. Pop-up campers are not accepted. Your Donation - What happens to the donated motorcycles?Your old car, truck, boat, motorcycle, RV or other vehicle will not be junked. You can turn that vehicle into a bunch of teddy bears to help children in crisis. Our country's resources are not wasted. Title Needed? The Certificate of Title is a document that proves ownership of a vehicle. The only way to transfer ownership is to have a Certificate of Title, called the Title...sometimes referred to as the "pink slip". In order to complete the donation process, as described above, the title must be signed off by the donor and must be present at pickup so that the new owner can assume ownership and responsibility. If you have lost your title you can usually obtain a duplicate within hours or days depending on the state you are in. Be sure to inquire and be sure to ask about fast turnaround. Sometimes there is a small fee for a fast turnaround. In California, for example, a person can get a duplicate title in 72 hours for a fee of about $18. Donating a vehicle without a title means the donor is still responsible for anything that occurs to the vehicle after it leaves his or her hands. Of course the vehicle would have to be paid up and there can be no bank loan (lien) showing on the title. If a vehicle is picked up without the title the charity may have to pay storage fees, so we insist, unless the vehicle is very valuable, that the signed off title be presented at the time of pickup. Fees?If the vehicle is in storage, or at an auto repair shop or dealer, or has been impounded all fees due must be paid prior to the arrival of the towing company to pick up the motorcycle. |
